Burghers Brewing and A Slice of New York Pizzeria are joining forces to expand their presence on Pittsburgh’s South Side at The Highline, creating a new culinary destination for locals and visitors alike.
The partnership aims to transform two prominent locations into a hub for craft beer and authentic New York-style pizza.
A Slice of New York Opens Pittsburgh Location
As part of the expansion, A Slice of New York will open a Pittsburgh location along Carson Street, focusing on square pizzas. The new location will take over the space currently occupied by Burghers Brewing.
Burghers Brewing Moves Into Highline Space
Burghers Brewing is relocating into the recently vacated space at The Highline, formerly home to Sly Fox Brewing Company.
“This expansion allows us to grow without compromising who we are,” said Burghers founder Fiore Moletz. “It gives us room to brew more, build more, and create more.”
Introducing Burghers Pizza Concept
In their new space, Burghers will launch Burghers Pizza, a unique concept blending the brewery’s signature smash burgers with pizza.
“We’ve spent years perfecting flavor balance inside a bun,” Moletz explained. “Now we’re rebuilding that experience on fermented dough. It’s playful, but it’s serious.”
Each pizza will be carefully designed to pair with one of Burghers’ craft beers, creating a fully integrated food-and-drink experience.
Focus on Authentic New York Pizza
The new A Slice of New York Pizzeria will continue its tradition of crafting authentic square pizzas using the same ingredients and techniques that earned acclaim at the Murrysville shop. The pizzeria gained recognition after Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy praised it in his 2024 “One Bite” pizza review series.
“This is about honoring authentic New York pizza while continuing to build something meaningful in Pittsburgh,” said A Slice of New York founder Sean Jefairjian. “Carson Street deserves something serious.”
